As part of its development and repair, the Yamuna floodplains will feature an 11-kilometer-long walking and adventure route on its eastern banks.
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena set the cornerstone for the hiking and adventure track, at the Signature Bridge on Tuesday, which will be connected by a route winding through woods, meadows, and flowerbeds up to the Asita Ghat at the ITO barrage.
L-G House officials stated that the earthen or 'kuchcha' track, which will be built by the Eco Battalion of the Territorial Army in collaboration with the DDA, will pass through the fields of Garhi Mandu, Shastri Park, Old Railway Bridge, Geeta Colony Bridge and Asita along a green field alignment in an effort to provide city residents with a much-needed adventure trail. They added that the basic track will be completed by June 1.
