One of the most well-known Fairs in Punjab is Ludhiana Jarag Mela, which is typically held in the Pail Village in honour of the Mother Goddess Seetala. It is presented with incredible ardour and emotion, drawing visitors from all over the nation.
Deion to the Ludhiana Jarag Mela:
The Beheria Mela is another name for the Ludhiana Mela. People congregate around the pond and shovel dirt out to construct the shrine for the goddess Seetala. It appears that having faith is the only thing that counts, and if you have faith, even a small patch of soil can be turned into a place of worship.
People give their worship to this hand-made shrine, with gurugulas or jaggery typically being the most popular offerings. The mule serving as her Vahana is then given the jaggery. In a pageant, the garishly coloured horses are something to notice. The plethora of hues also reflects the beautiful and wealthy Indian heritage.
Ludhiana Jarag Mela celebration:
The Ludhiana Jarag Mela typically takes place in the months of March and April. It is Chaitra month in the Indian calendar.
