The Orissa Tourism Department organises an amazing cultural event called the International Sand Art Festival. For those who are passionate in sand artwork, there is a sand art festival that takes place at Chandrabhaga Beach, which is 3 kilometres from Konark. It's one of the occasions that showcases Orissa and its fantastic travel destinations.
The Sand Festival honours the creations of talented sand sculptors. Prepare for a wide variety of displays, not only the classic sand sculptures. Expect artwork made by talented sand artists using sand, stone, metal, or wood. Visitors to the sand festival can attend for free. Remember the thrill of making something out of sand.
Just a short distance from Konark, on the Chandrabhaga beach, the International Sand Art Festival was inaugurated in 2015. It was a component of the concurrently organised Konark Dance Festival. Owing to their close vicinity to Konark Sun Temple, both of these events draw large crowds of people from throughout the globe. The second iteration is scheduled for December.
