About 15,000 people are anticipated to participate in the sixth annual Manipal Marathon, which will be held on February 11 and is being organised by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in partnership with the Udupi District Amateur Athletics' Association (UDAAA). This information was provided by H.S. Ballal, MAHE's pro-chancellor.
Speaking to media on Wednesday in Manipal, he stated that the purpose of the occasion is to spread awareness about hospice palliative care under the slogan "We are with you all the way."
Among the many international participants in the marathon are more than 200 visually impaired persons from the Samarthanam Trust and 150 physically challenged people from all around Karnataka, he added.Following the race, there is a funfair celebration, and the victors of the marathon get large cash prizes. The different distances—a full marathon (42.195 k), half marathon (21.098 k), 10K, 5K, and 3K—have been thoughtfully designed to accommodate the abilities of all runners. The last category, known as the 3K fun run, will allow free on-the-spot registrations for participants in the 3 kilometre race.
