Sishya OMR School

The Sishya narrative is the tale of how one man's concept became a prestigious school offering top-notch education in Chennai. In January 1972, Mr. K.I. Thomas, the founder of Sishya, started a nursery-preparatory school after retiring from the Lawrence School in Lovedale, Ooty. Today, Sishya Adayar is a fully functional Higher Secondary School with more over 1200 pupils. The school strives to uphold its fundamental principles of offering high-quality instruction while striking a balance between economy and efficiency by limiting the number of pupils in each class.

The TNCDE and the KIT Thomas Educational Society partnered. a trust that owns a building and land at a prominent position in Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) Thuraipakkam, where the School-Sishya will be established. Admissions at Sishya OMR School began in June 2010 after the school was established as a trust. The junior and senior classrooms at Sishya OMR School are housed in two large blocks inside a large complex, with a large playground between them. Well-designed, air-conditioned classrooms, laboratories, an auditorium, and an art studio. The School belongs to ISC. The KIT THOMAS Educational Society supports Sishya OMR School academically and offers guidance on how to administer the school while emulating the ethos, values, and culture of Sishya Adyar.
