The Sinthan Snow Festival - 2023 will be held in Sinthan Maidan in Kishtwar from April 29 to 30, 2023. It is being organised by the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu and Kishtwar Tourism Development Authority in partnership with the District Administration Kishtwar, JKAACL, and Indian Army. This location's alpine pastures are equally beautiful in nature. Among the events of the festival are a bike rally, paragliding, snow kayaking, fun snow activities, and several more events.The country of saffron and sapphire, divKishtwar (Kashtavata), is tucked away in the lap of majestic "CHOWGAN," which is blessed with a high degree of natural beauty and is topped with the Naginshiru" mountain to the north and the powerful river "CHENAB" at its feet.
Kishtwar (Kashtavata) has existed since the time of the Mahabharata, when it was known as "LOHIT MANDAL," or the country of Saffron. According to Rajtirangni, Kishtwar (Kashtavata) has a significant historical importance. Up to 1821 AD, it was the seat of the former Kishtwar (Kashtavata) State. The highland valley of Kishtwar (Kashtavata), located in the northeastern part of Jammu, is surrounded by the magnificent folds of the GREAT HIMALYAN Range. The Asikni (Chenab) river system, which flows from Himachal and reaches the region near Padder, drains the area. On the north, the districts of Kashmir and Zanskar, on the south, Doda, on the east, Himachal Pardesh, and on the west, the districts of Anantnag and Ramban. Dacchan, Marwah,Wadwan, Padder & Chatroo are major valleys and Tourist Spots of Kishtwar (Kashtavata), through these valleys the Internationally renowned Trans- Himalayan Treks are leading to Suru, Zanskar and Kashmir.
