Located in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, is the famous Shri 1008 Shantinath Digambar Jain Temple. Historians state that Maharaja Jai Singh II of the Jaipur Kingdom built the temple in 1721 A.D. The 15th Tirthankara, Lord Shantinath, is claimed to be the temple's patron saint and spiritual guide in Jainism. It is said that red stone was originally used to construct the temple. Several famous statues of Lord Shantinath and Lord Mahavir can be seen at this temple, which is frequented by numerous devotees.
