Reliance Jio said on Tuesday that Jio AirFiber is now available in eight cities, in honour of Ganesh Chaturthi. The eight cities are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. The Jio plug-and-play gadget competes with Airtel's Xtream AirFiber, which is currently only offered in Mumbai and Delhi, by bridging the final mile of connectivity. More than 550 HD channels will be available in addition to wireless high-speed broadband access through Jio's AirFiber. Additionally, it supports 16 OTT services, including Netflix and Amazon.
Jio introduced two options for the AirFiber membership. The entry-level AirFiber package costs $599 and offers 30 Mbps speed, while the AirFiber Max plan costs $1,499 and offers 300 Mbps speed. Having said that, Jio's AirFiber Max will only be offered in a few places.
"With Jio AirFiber, we are fast covering every home in our nation with a same level of service while extending our addressable market. Through its solutions in education, health, surveillance, and smart homes, Jio AirFiber will provide millions of households with high-quality digital entertainment, smart home services, and bandwidth, according to Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.
