Rapido, a ride-hailing start up has moved away from its customary commission-based aggregator strategy and implemented a software-as-a-service (SaaS) based approach for vehicle drivers.
According to Rapido, the new model gives car drivers a lifetime of 0% commission in exchange for a daily membership fee of between Rs 9 and Rs 29, which would allow them to take as many trips as needed.
Rapido claims that the new model gives vehicle drivers a clear and inclusive revenue stream in an effort to empower them.
As part of a calculated move, Rapido is also offering auto-rickshaws and rentals in a few cities in addition to bike taxis. With the advent of Rapido Cabs in December, which employs a comparable SaaS model, the business is currently active in more than 35 locations.
Through the extension, offline auto drivers will be able to join the almost two crore auto trips that take place every day around the nation.
