Promotional poster connecting Champakulam Moolam boat race and Wimbledon championship was released on Monday

On a day when snakeboats made a splash at the Champakulam Moolam boat race in Kuttanad, signalling the start of the State's annual boat racing season, Wimbledon Championships, the world's oldest tennis tournament, produced a promotional poster linking the two events on Monday.

To entice tennis fans, organisers of the grass-court event, which began on Monday at Wimbledon in London, released a poster depicting tennis stars such as Ons Jabeur, Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and others rowing boats on Kerala backwaters on top social media sites.

Kerala tourist promotes the snakeboat race at worldwide travel and tourist trade exhibitions and roadshows. Chelsea FC recently took a virtual tour of the backwaters of Alappuzha, complimenting the beauty of the region. The Tourism Minister then asked the 'Blues' to on a'real tour' of the state.
