The Prithvi Theatre is a theater in Mumbai's Juhu neighborhood. The traveling theatrical company 'Prithvi Theatres' was established in 1944 by Prithviraj Kapoor and operated for sixteen years. Prithviraj, Shashi Kapoor's father, had envisioned a "home" for his repertory theater group, so he and his wife Jennifer erected the theater in his honor. Architect Ved Segan created it, and it debuted in 1978. Before she passed away in 1984, Jennifer oversaw the construction and operation of the theater. Managing Trustee Shashi Kapoor oversaw the theater's day-to-day operations, while trustee Kunal Kapoor managed a small but effective staff.
