PM Narendra Modi to lay the foundation stone for International Cricket Stadium in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi

NewsOn Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the cornerstone for an international cricket stadium in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will invest 330 crores in the development of the stadium, with the state government, led by chief minister Yogi Adityanath, allocating 121 crores for land acquisition. Former cricket players Sachin Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri, were at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi on Saturday. Later on in the day, they will go to the International Cricket Stadium's groundbreaking ceremony.
This Varanasi ground is the third international cricket venue in Uttar Pradesh, after those in Kanpur and Lucknow. The prime minister will attend the conclusion and prize-giving ceremony of Cultural Mahotsav 2023 as well as the inauguration of 16 newly built Atal Residential Schools, completed for an estimated cost of 1,115 crore, according to CM Adityanath.
Modi opened the 'International Lawyers' Conference 2023' in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan before departing for Varanasi. This conference, which was held on Saturday and Sunday and had as its topic "Emerging Challenges in the Justice Delivery System," was hosted by the Bar Council of India.
