NewsThe Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), run by the government, has welcomed the logistics technology provider - Pidge. The partnership intends to hasten the expansion of e-commerce, with an emphasis on same-city and hyperlocal delivery throughout India.
Utilising Pidge's vast network—which consists of more than 200 national and regional partners—the programme aims to raise the country's e-commerce penetration rate over the existing 5% mark.
Promoting inclusion for sellers—especially small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs)—is the goal of the ONDC Network.
Pidge's AI-driven solution offers 100% end-to-end fulfilment across a range of sectors, streamlining last-mile logistics. This is in line with the goal of the ONDC network, which is to digitise the whole value chain of e-commerce.
Pidge Powered Network (PPN), the company's service, aims to improve tech adoption in locations with little or no accessibility, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities, by providing local suppliers with cutting-edge technology. It is anticipated that small enterprises in India would reap significant benefits from the partnership between Pidge and ONDC.
Through the facilitation of end-to-end on-network transactions, the programme will empower small businesses and improve their operational efficiency and access to new markets.
