Navratri, which translates to "nine nights," is one of the most well-known and extensively observed Hindu holidays throughout most of India. The only state that has a nine-night dance festival—possibly the longest in the world—is Gujarat. Every night, people congregate in public areas around the state, in both villages and towns, to honour Shakti, the feminine principle.
People do the dandiya and garba with all of their actions over these nine days. For nine exhausting days, the sound of sticks and dhols is unavoidable throughout Gujarat. Everyone enjoys this festival, which draws tourists who come specifically to participate in the nation's most beloved and fun event throughout the fall season.
