Makkala Jagriti

Makkala Jagriti commenced its operations in Bangalore in 2003 with a clear vision: to empower children from marginalized communities, enabling them to overcome the barriers and obstacles that prevent access to quality education due to their circumstances. What initially began as a secure and supportive learning center within an urban poor community in Bangalore has evolved into a significant movement. This movement focuses on empowering thousands of disadvantaged children and youth through a distinctive holistic development model. The aim of this model is to maximize their learning potential and chances of success, ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment. Over its 20-year journey, Makkala Jagriti has positively influenced the lives of over 80,000 children and youth, helping them realize their potential. The organization continues its work to empower these individuals to shape their own promising futures.
