Ladakh Marathon are the highest and difficult marathons. The event features two ultramarathons: the 122 km Silk Route Ultra, which will be the pinnacle of high altitude running and test the boundaries of human endurance, and the 72 km Khardung La Challenge (5370 m), which is currently the World's Highest Ultramarathon. In contrast to other marathons, the Ladakh Marathon mandates that competitors arrive in Leh at least a week before the event to acclimatise before the big day. Since participants will be jogging at 3500 metres above sea level, they must must quickly adjust to the high altitude.
Different events take place in and around Leh, the historical capital of Ladakh, and provide competitors the chance to run alongside locals across the most picturesque terrain with breathtaking views of mountains, rivers, and valleys. The competitors will have memories to cherish and satisfied to have competed in the Ladakh Marathon. In 2015, the Ladakh Marathon joined AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) as a full member. It has since been featured in several international sports publications and regarded as one of the most stunning and inspiring marathons in the entire globe.
