Located in Koyambedu, Chennai, the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex (KWMC) is one of the biggest perishable products market complexes in Asia. The market complex occupies 295 acres. Approximately 3,100 stores make up the complex, which opened in 1996 and has more than 1,000 wholesale and 2,000 retail stores. 850 of these are stores that sell fruit. It is easily accessible from all areas of the city and borders both Nesapakkam Road and Poonamallee High Road.
