Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala released a book named Aushadha Sasyangalum Avayude Krishi Reethiyum on medicinal plants and their cultivation

NewsA book on medicinal plants and their cultivation was released by Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, at a function held at Arya Vaidya Sala’s Centre for Medicinal Plants Research (CMPR), Kottakkal, on Tuesday. Aushadha Sasyangalum Avayude Krishi Reethiyum, a Malayalam book, was published in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) as part of a cooperative effort.
P. Madhavankutty Varier, head physician and managing trustee of Arya Vaidya Sala, handed out a copy of the book to Nabard Kerala area chief general manager Gopakumaran Nair. The event was presided over by Dr. Varier. Indira Balachandran, project director, greeted everyone.
The Nabard is financing a programme in the region to promote and popularise five medicinal plants. Through partner organisations like as Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Keystone Foundation, Nilambur, Greendom Farmer Producer Company, Kondotty, People's Foundation, Kozhikode, and Thanal Welfare Society, Maranchery, up to 120 farmer groups are planting medicinal plants. The event on Tuesday drew up to 35 farmer representatives and farmers from indigenous villages.
G.C. Gopala Pillai, chief executive officer of Arya Vaidya Sala, spoke, as did additional project director Geetha S. Pillai, Arya Vaidya Sala head of materials Shylaja Madhavankutty, Mohammed Riyaz, district development manager of Nabard, and M.A. Titten, district manager of Lead Bank.
