NewsThere was a boisterous greeting for Jyothi Surekha Vennam, on Wednesday, October 11, at Gannavaram International Airport, who brought honours to the nation by winning three gold medals in the Compound Archery category at the 19th Asian Games 2023, which just held in Hangzhou, China. In the women's individual, women's team, and mixed team competitions, she won gold. Jyothi Surekha visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then left for her hometown of Vijayawada.
Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), H.M. Dhyanachandra, congratulated her on her win and wished her luck in her next competitions. Mr. Dhyanachandra and other SAAP executives greeted the archer.
Later, Jyothi Surekha, an alumna of KL (Deemed to be University) and Nalanda Vidyaniketan school, had a warm welcome from students at the airport.The archer made a statement on the occasion, saying, "This is the first time I achieved three gold medals at the Asian Games." I am grateful to the administrations of my institution, school, and parents for allowing me to pursue my hobbies.
