The ISKCON Temple, also referred to as the Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple, is a temple devoted to Lord Krishna. Established by Achyut Kanvinde in 1998, the temple is situated in the east Kailash region of New Delhi. In addition to being one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Delhi, the temple has a large following of those seeking tranquilly not just in India but also abroad. It is a place for studying Vedic studies.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is the organisation that gave the renowned temple its name. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada established the spiritual organisation ISKCON Temple in New York in 1966. The purpose of founding an ISKCON Temple is to propagate Bhakti Yoga, which is the surrender of the devotee to Lord Krishna. Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi Temple, the ISKCON Temple in Delhi, was established in 1995 to promote awareness of Vedic culture and strengthen ties between the populace and Lord Krishna. Prabhupada, the organization's founder, intended to build temples in all of India's major cities.
