With a focus on engineering, technology, applied sciences, architecture, and related fields, the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi established the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) in May 2013 by Delhi Act 09 of 2012 as a non-affiliating university. Its mission is to facilitate and promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation, and extension work in these and related emerging areas of professional education among women.
The University has experienced exponential growth every year since 2013. The B.Tech. courses in computer science engineering, information technology, electronics and communications, and robotics and automation engineering have all been continued.
