Indian Army Havildar has been awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal for designing 'Multipurpose Octocopter'

President Droupadi Murmu has given the Indian Army Havildar the Vishisht Seva Medal for designing the "Multipurpose Octocopter," an inventive drone that can be used for a variety of tasks including dropping munitions, engaging targets from the air, and logistics operations. President Murmu awarded Havildar Varinder Singh on January 25, the eve of Republic Day.

Havildar Singh's "Multipurpose Octocopter" may conduct surveillance missions by giving the operator access to a live video feed. It may be utilised, even in high-altitude regions, to drop necessary supplies to advance posts. An assault weapon and grenade drop platform has been added to the octocopter so that it may engage targets on the enemy ground. Thus, in operational locations and scenarios where last-mile connection for the delivery of operational logistics is problematic, the inventive drone might prove to be a force multiplier.

Additionally, it would be especially helpful for delivering supplies that troops stationed at far locations in hilly and high-altitude environments need. The "Multipurpose Octocopter" will support the Indian Army by allowing enemy engagements and observation from a distance. This state-of-the-art drone that was created in-house has already undergone successful trials in high-altitude zones and the lowlands.
