Hazrat Nizamuddin is a dargah (mausoleum) that is close to Humayun's Tomb. It is devoted to Nizamuddin Auliya (1238–1325 AD), a well-known Sufi saint worldwide. Since Hazrat Nizamuddin is one of the most tranquil and calm sites of prayer in Delhi, a large number of people from all over the region visit it. There are marble arches, jaallies (lattice screens), and a courtyard inside the dargah. The compound housing this Muslim pilgrimage site in Delhi includes the tomb of Nizamuddin Auliya as well as the grave of his follower, Amir Khusrau, who was formerly a renowned poet of Urdu and Persian.
The dargah is also the final resting place of several other notable historical individuals, such as Muhammad Shah Rangila, an 18th-century king, and Shah Jahan's daughter Jahanara Begum. Atgah Khan, a nobleman, had a wife who worked as the famous Mughal emperor Akbar's nurse.
