West of Chandni Chowk's oldest street lies the Fatehpuri Mosque, a 17th-century mosque, located at the other end of Chandni Chowk, across from the Red Fort. The emperor Shah Jahan's wife Fatehpuri Begum, a native of Fatehpur Sikri, constructed the Fatehpuri Masjid in 1650. She is also the name of the mosque near the Taj Mahal.
The mosque really gets into the spirit of the Muslim holidays, Id-ul-Fitr and Id-ul-Zuha.
