Department of Drugs Control

The Drugs Control Organisation was functioning, as a subordinate office under the Directorate of Health Services till January 1986 and the Director of Health Services was the Ex-officio Drugs Controller. The Drugs Control Organisation became an independent Department with the Drugs Controller as Head of Department. It envisages uniform implementation of the provisions of the Act & Rules made for ensuring the safety, rights, and well-being of the patients, efficacy, and quality of the medical product manufactured, imported, and distributed in the country.
