City Engineering College was started in 2001 by the Jayanagar Education Society. The college is located off Kanakapura Main Road, near Bangalore. The college is the sister project of AMC Engineering College, Bangalore.[citation needed] It started a civil engineering branch in the 2011–12 academic year.
