The Wallajah Mosque, popularly known as the Triplicane Big Mosque, is a mosque on Chennai's Triplicane High Road. The mosque was established in 1795 by the family of Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, the Nawab of Arcot in 1765, and is designed in the Mughal architectural style. Its front features a spacious ground, a tank, and a prayer hall. There is not a single piece of iron or wood used in the construction of the entire edifice. The mosque is an active site of prayer and the biggest and oldest in Chennai. Prince of Arcot Endowments Trust is in charge of its administration.
