Every year, starting on Chaita Sankranti, or April 14th, the Basant rai Mela, also known as the Bishua Mela, is observed on the bank of the Basant rai Tank for 15 days. There was a large tank on 50 acres of land in the Pathargama block of the Godda district. It is said that no one has ever been able to swim, ride an elephant, or use a boat to cross the tank from one end to the other. Raja Basant Rai, who created and improved this pond, is remembered via the celebration of this festival.
