With Avartana, ITC Hotels provides a showcase of contemporary South Indian food that is firmly anchored in the traditional flavours and ingredients of the Southern peninsula, while being fascinatingly innovative in the interpretation of the cuisine and its presentation.

ITC Grand Chola’s Avartana in Chennai along with Masque, Mumbai and Indian Accent, New Delhi have made it to the influential list of Asia’s top 50 restaurants, sponsored by San Pellegrino. Placed at number 30, Avartana was this year’s new entry from India and has also won the Highest New Entry Award.

The Avartana in ITC Grand Chola's Chennai, Masque in Mumbai, and Indian Accent in New Delhi have made it onto the prestigious San Pellegrino-sponsored list of Asia's top 50 restaurants. Avartana, the Indian new entry for 2023, came in at number thirty and took up the Highest New Entry Award.

The restaurant combines modern methods with regional tastes to create modern south Indian cuisine. It provides customers with a selection of seven-to thirteen-course tasting meals. 

Renowned for its reinvented Rasam and curd rice, Avartana gained popularity.The rasam is served in martini glasses after being carefully flavoured, distilled, and french pressed into a clear broth. Other delicacies include the pan-fried fish, asparagus, french beans, and coconut stew, as well as the bitter gourd crostini with shallot jam and cumin potatoes. This place serves curd rice in a test tube with vathakuzhambu, which is prepared with sago pearls. 

The ambiance includes rustic ceramics, silver-upholstered chairs, and a banana leaf motif that is typical of south India. Guests may observe the fusion of molecular gastronomy and home flavours in an open kitchen.
