Ashtalakshmi Kovil is situated in Chennai, next to Elliot's beach. The temple is devoted to the goddess Lakshmi and her eight principal forms, the Ashtalakshmi, who bestows wealth in all eight forms: progeny, prosperity, success, courage, bravery, nourishment, and wisdom. To prevent people from trampling on any of the sanctorums, the sanctorums are shown as a multi-tier structure.
In addition to Goddess Lakshmi, there are idols of Guruvayoorappan, Ganesha, and the ten manifestations or avatars of Lord Vishnu, known as Dashavatara. The temple's construction in the form of Om, the initial Vedic mantra, is one of its unique characteristics. This place sees a lot of devotees during the Hindu holidays of Navratri, Gokulashtami, Deepavali, and Pongal. In addition, it is worthwhile to witness the evening pooja.
