One of the 108 Divya Desams, Parthasarathy Swamy Temple, is said to have been restored by a Pallava dynasty king. The ancient Puranic name of Thiru-Alli-Keni, presently called Thiruvallikeni or contemporary Triplicane, was Brindaranya. It is believed to have served as a resting place for pilgrims for at least 5,000 years. During solar and lunar eclipses, pilgrims would come from Thirupathy to bathe in the sea, and on other auspicious days, they would travel directly to Thirupathy, Thiruthani, and Trivellore, with no swamps in between.
The vibrant Gopuram is the temple's most amazing feature and draws people in. Alvars' old Tamil texts have references to this shrine. In addition, the temple has distinct shrines dedicated to Lord Varaha, Lord Narasimha, and Lord Rama. Because Fridays and Saturdays are very favourable for Lord Venkata Krishna, they are always packed.
