Art camp centred around the theme of water, specific to the coast of Visakhapatnam, to be held from November 2

On Saturday, the Hotel Novotel in this city hosted the opening of an art camp aimed at producing a body of work focused on the topic of water and unique to the Visakhapatnam coast. In advance of the 25th Congress of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), which is set to take place here starting on November 2, the week-long camp is being hosted by the Vishwa Samudra Group in collaboration with Seher, an organisation that promotes Indian performing and visual arts.

The camp, which ends on November 2, has twenty respected artists from all across India, including artists from Visakhapatnam, V. Ramesh, Uma Vegesina, A. Raja Ramesh, Mrudula Kunatharaju, and Jyotsna Mandapaka. The camp aims to promote water preservation and tourism while documenting the artists' distinct viewpoints on the local waterbodies. The camp will weave together the rich creative and cultural traditions of the area, highlighting Visakhapatnam's natural beauty.

The 25th Congress of the ICID and the 7th International Executive Council meeting of the ICID, which will take place in the city from November 2 to 8, will feature an exhibition of the artwork produced during the camp.

Senior ICID members, government officials, and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will all be attending the expo.
