Army Public School

The Army Public School, Chennai (APSC) is a public institution located in Chennai.  It is run under the auspices of the Indian Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), with oversight from the Indian Army. It is the flagship institution in the Indian Army Public Schools network.

Initially, it had 300 pupils and 15 professors when it was established in May 2009 as the Golden Palm Army School. Maj. Gen. E J Kochekkan administered the inauguration. Following its rebranding to Army Public School on April 1, 2010, the school became the 127th member of Indian Army Public Schools. The number of pupils at the school has steadily grown from its modest beginning of 21 in 2009 to over 1175 in 2016.
