Andaman Marathon on February 26; aims to promote and create awareness for a healthy lifestyle

Andaman Marathon “CLEAN & GREEN ANDAMAN" is an initiative by the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry to promote and create awareness for a healthy lifestyle, propagate the islands as a clean and green destination, and put the Andaman on the global tourism map. The inaugural event was successfully held on Sunday 20th November 2011. Two years since its inception, the Andaman Marathon has indeed become a spectacle. The island comes to a standstill to witness more than 750 people, locals and tourists alike, running around the capital city. Though it's a race, it's hardly about winning. It is about the island, the surrounding beauty, and most of all, the people. The half marathon garners attention from professional athletes around the globe, with participation from Kenyans, and Ethiopians alongside our local boys. The 10k though is relatively more chilled out, being a rather fun and frolic event. The Andaman Marathon gives the perfect opportunity to explore and discover the pristine and beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Half Marathon :  Route: Cellular Jail - Girls School-Carbyns Chowk -Bathu Basthi - Dollygunj - Goal Ghar - Delanipur - Marine Hill - Clock Tower - Stadium 2nd Gate Age group : open to All, Registration Fee Rs.500/-

10k open & 10k Senior : Route:Cellular Jail - Bengali Club - Goal Ghar - Delanipur - Haddo - Foreshore Road - Mohanpura - Clock Tower - Marina Park - Stadium 2nd gate. Age Group : 18 and above. Registration fee Rs.300/-

10k Junior : Route:Cellular Jail - Bengali Club - Goal Ghar - Delanipur - Haddo - Foreshore Road - Mohanpura - Clock Tower - Marina Park - Stadium 2nd gate. Age Group : 14 to 17 Registration Fee Rs.200
