The Akshardham Temple is an architectural wonder that honours Lord Swaminarayan (1781–1830), one of Hinduism's avatars, devas, and great sages, and reveals a cultural tradition spanning thousands of years. The imposing building was completed in around five years, and on November 6, 2005, it was dedicated. Currently situated on the Yamuna River's banks, the majestic building draws millions of visitors and pilgrims from all over the world.
