The Akshardham Temple is an architectural wonder that honours Lord Swaminarayan (1781–1830), one of Hinduism's avatars, devas, and great sages, and reveals a cultural tradition spanning thousands of years. The imposing building was completed in around five years, and on November 6, 2005, it was dedicated.
