40th annual Cochin Flower Show will begin at Marine Drive on Friday and conclude on January 1

EventOn Friday, Marine Drive will host the 40th annual Cochin Flower Show. The Agri-Horticulture Society and the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) are in charge of organising the event. The flower exhibition will grow to be the greatest of its kind in the nation, according to GCDA Chairman K. Chandran Pillai. It will end on January 1.
The exhibition will be opened by Mayor M. Anilkumar, while Mr. Pillai will serve as the event's chairman. The keynote speaker is going to be District Collector N.S.K. Umesh. The pavilion for floral decorating will be opened by Hibi Eden, MP. Among those in attendance will be T.J. Vinod, MLA.
Over 5,000 square feet will be used to arrange the flower exhibition. Vegetable sculptures and floral arrangements will be on display. The organisers said that a display of flowering plants will take up more than 38,000 square feet. Additionally, the event will feature about 5,000 orchids that are in bloom. Miniature anthuriums and around 10,000 lilium plants will be on display.
Children's competitions will be a feature of the presentation. There will also be cultural events and a massive New Year's performance planned. From 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., the exhibition will be open. Adult admission is ₹100, while children's admission is ₹50.
