34th edition of the Flower, Vegetable, and Fruit show-cum-Farm Fest 2024 will be held from February 9 to 11 in Puducherry

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will organize the 34th annual Flower, Vegetable, and Fruit show-cum-Farm Fest 2024 from February 9–11 at the Botanical Garden. Reporters were informed by Agriculture Minister C. Djeacoumar that a variety of agricultural and horticultural products, plant seedlings, and an estimated 50,000 flower types shown by farmers from neighboring States, including Karnataka and Kerala, will be on display during the three-day festival.

A range of departments, horticultural nurseries, and related businesses will present their latest advancements in technology and innovation, including machinery, crop protection methods, bio-fertilizers, seed variations, and new projects.

The location will have pavilions showcasing the displays of various groups, including farmers, the public, students, nature enthusiasts, social activists, and horticultural aficionados. During the event, both people and institutions will be presenting unique varietals. 

There will be a variety of competitions in areas such as flower arranging, container gardening, vegetable carving, aromatic and medicinal plant collections, glasshouse plants, tank building, and terrace and decorative gardens. There will also be essay, quiz, and Rangoli competitions for schoolchildren, with prizes given to the victors.  Superior-grade saplings will be sold for the public's benefit.
